On Monday 21st May Y6 visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir as part of the R.E learning on Hinduism. The children enjoyed the day which was extremely informative and enlightining. We had the priviledge of witnessing the Aarti ( hindu prayer) also found out about the history of the Mandir and how it was built.
The childern were impressed to find out the building was made up of more than 26000 individual pieces of Italian marble and Bulgarian limestone, which were hand carved in India and assembled in England. Following their visit, the children wrote recounts of their exciting day in Literacy.
The children have worked hard thus term and are looking forward to a well deserved break!
