Year 3 have produced some wonderful leaflets advertising cities in France. They have described noteworthy buildings and museums as well as local foods and drinks. I know where I’ll be spending my summer holidays from now on!
Just before the Easter holiday, Year 5 welcomed their French penfriends to Firs Farm. 5SB took them round for a visit of our school, showing them everything there is to see from the Headteacher’s office to the kitchen and the computing suite. The Parisians were very impressed by the playground and the sports field! 5C showed them some British playground games and were taught some French ones in return whilst 5H were given a chance to listen to the French pupils’ assembly presentation.
The morning culminated in a well-deserved traditional British lunch (Fish&Chips, what else?) with all the pupils sharing a table. Bilingual conversations flowed, much to the delight of their respective teachers. What a wonderful morning we had!
