In 4WS this week, we have been looking at deciduous and evergreen trees. We looked at branches and tried to draw exactly what we could see. We also recorded our observations in writing.
Zamira drew these two pictures to illustrate what she saw.
“The deciduous twig has buds which will grow branches. On the right side of the twig, there’s smooth bark. On the left side of the twig, there’s a rough bark and a twirl at the top. It’s brown.”
“When I saw the holly, I saw glossy, shiny, red berries that attract the birds for them to eat. The leaves and very green and prickly and the stem is hard. On the end of the holly there is two leaves with veins.”
